Welcome to the website for “The Dogs Dinner” a National Dinner Party to be held in aid of Hounds for Heroes on the 14th and 15th of September, 2012.

So what is a National Dinner Party?

Quite simply, it’s what you want it to be.  We envisage a number of scenarios, ranging from “a Restaurant in my House”, a quiet dinner party for friends, to beer and pizza in front of the telly/PlayStation.   All these scenarios have one thing in common – To raise money for Charity - Hounds for Heroes.  How does it do that?  Quite simply, after whatever sort of dinner party you hold, you invite your guests to donate what they think your evening has been worth!!! Simple really.  Details of how to pay in those donations are under the donate button and can be found here.

Pop–Up Restaurant

Only for the brave (or foolhardy!). In due course we will publish ideas about how to turn your house into a pop up restaurant.  However, you might like to think about the following:

Diners experiencing the delights of a genuine pop up restaurat
  • How many diners you can comfortably fit in your house
  • Where the diners will sit in relation to the kitchen
  • How you will serve them
  • Whether you will offer a set menu, or a choice
  • How you will attract the punters
  • Serving of drinks – will you charge corkage?
  • Approaching butchers/greengrocers to donate supplies
  • Tables/Chair
  • Crockery/Cutlery/Glassware
  • Washing up

…… and I am sure you will think of lots more – if so let us know! 

 

Host a Dinner Party

If you would rather host a Dinner Party, then almost certainly you will know how to do it.Think about your guest list and who will get on – equally important is who is likely to appreciate the food and the cause and donate lots of cash in appreciation of your efforts!Perhaps you might like to organise the event as a safari supper, with donations in each house.

You might also approach butchers and greengrocers to see what they might donate.

Beer, Pizza, PlayStation Party!

We’re sure you are in for a grand old Party, whether on the PlayStation, the girly night in with the RomCom DVD and the tissues, or the Party Poker. Just remember to collect the donations before your guest leave after your all night thrash!
